Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Prague Ruzyne International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Stephen Charnock Comments: Outbound flight was ok, except we arrived at Prague airport I found out that I had no case. I had to go out and buy new clothes, toiletries etc
I rang airport for 2 days, but still no sight of my case and its contents. On the 3rd day, as we were due to fly home, I asked at the airport if anyone had found my case, low and behold, it was sat there behind the desk.
As I opened it I found that it had been already opened, quite a few items had been stolen, even to the extent that someone had used my aftershave. Absolutely furious.
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Alicante Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Andrew Pimblett Comments: Booked on line, and was not aware of the baggage costs!!! This was not displayed in February when I booked and did not get any e mail information. Therefore at check in - had to pay £20 for two cases and then had to pay another 32 Euros to come back - Appalling! I have written to BMI for refund - we will see what happens!
Customer service poor too - no thanks or please, just sighs and huffs and puffs.
It's Jet2 for me in future.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: East Midlands Airport Flying to: Faro Airport Class: Low Cost Seat Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Rodger Comments: I flew with bmi baby from east midlands to faro. The flight was super apart from I didn't like the quality of the aircraft being a pilot my self I would of had it checked over before it flew because bmi baby operates planes from the 1990 (that used be just bmi planes).
Over all a good flight.

Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Barcelona Airport Flying to: Birmingham International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Mrs Rennalls Comments: Fourteen hour delay from Barcelona to Birmingham Friday 6th July. Spend your money else where. No apologies no one to help. Rubbish service. No one to speak to give accurate info and flight cancelled. 4 different departure times given gate changed twice. Back home have to write letter of complaint as cannot speak to anyone in customer services. Will never travel with bmi baby ever again not even if tickets were free for round the world travel! Over 14 hour delay took the biscuit!
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Edinburgh Airport Flying to: Birmingham International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Danielle Estoup Comments: lost on the flight ww1004 Edinburgh Birmingham small envelop containing 3 digital memory cards with all my photos and films of Scotland 17.25 flight 26/07/07 seat 14 A. is there an address or website for property lost/ found on aircraft ?
I use Bmibaby quite regularly, to go home to Bordeaux, or for traveling in the UK except for the time they would not let me check in because I was 5 minutes late, the plane was not leaving for another 25 minutes or more, I have absolutely no complaints, always on time or early, nice helpful service.
Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: James Lupton Comments: We were booked on the 0720 BmiBaby flight to Palma WW3545. The flight was delayed 5 1/2 hours.
As a very frequent flyer (BMI Gold, BA Gold), I was dismayed to learn that the only refreshments that were provided were by means of a £3 voucher. One does not need much imagination to understand that this would not cover the cost of a drink or a sandwich.
The real measurement of an airline is not how they fly under normal circumstances but how they deal with issues. Although delays of this length are really unacceptable anyway, I accept they do occur. Providing £3 for this delay is not appropriate provision of refreshments as detailed in EU legislation.
As a frequent flyer with BMI, they may be interested to know that this issue with BmiBaby will also have had an impact on my future business with BMI.
Terrible treatment. Won't be using them again ever. And of course we are pursuing it further.
Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Graham Rawstrone Comments: I too was booked on the 0720 BmiBaby flight to Palma WW3545. The flight was delayed 5 1/2 hours.
No information was given other than the standard we have a technical fault and we are waiting for an update.
The £3 voucher was pitiful nothing could be bought with it, bearing mind we had been at the airport at 5am and got up at 3am to get there ready for departure at 0720.
There were a lot of people who boarded the flight at 1pm that I didn't see at check in or waiting in the terminal early on. I wonder whether they merged 2 flights but didn't tell us, perhaps they didn't have enough customers for the early flight? The plane was not full when it took off. It is a lot easier to say there is a technical fault than tell the customers that they didn't want to run the flight as there wasn't enough customers.
It just makes you wonder. I never saw a BMIBaby plane at the terminal before the 1pm plane.
When we did get off the plane was ok, however they did manage to loose my daughters car safety seat, so we had to hire one in Palma which we weren't expecting, an extra cost & the seat wasn't as good. They did deliver the car seat the following day.
I have flown with Jet2.com, Monarch & Thomson, each of these airlines are 100% better than bmibaby. STEER WELL CLEAR PAY A BIT MORE & GO WITH JET2.COM
We too will be contacting BMIBaby with our comments, hopefully they will reply, but according to other reviews they seem to struggle to do this too.
We were also delayed on our way home & diverted to East Midlands but I'll write that one up soon!
Date of Travel: Mar 2007 Flying from: East Midlands Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Richard L Comments: Overall the flight was brilliant, we were out on time and arrive back to East Midlands 10mins early! I flew on a 737-500, not the largest of aircraft and quite frankly I was a tad uncomfortable, however the excellent customer service and attitude was the staff made up for that. The weather was not brill, so harsh turbulence was a problem. I was extremely happy with the flight overall!
Date of Travel: Mar 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Prague Ruzyne International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Sarah Comments: A great airline!
All flights left on time and even arrived early. The seats were comfortable and well spaced even given that we were travelling with 2 infants and my sister who was pregnant. The staff even got our pushchairs back for us at the plane so that we did not have to carry the babies through the airport at Prague.
Great hand baggage weight allowance 10kg (not that I could carry that amount and the baby at the same time).
The only downside was that the staff at check-in were unfriendly and could have been more helpful, but this did not spoil our flight. I will definitely use this airline again.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: Cardiff Airport Flying to: Malaga Airport Class: Low Cost Seat Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Peter White Comments: For the cost of the flight this was very good value. The food offered was very limited but you can always take a sandwich with you. The cabin crew were very good and very friendly. Flights were near enough on time and comfortable.
Where could you go for £22.60 return these days this must be good value
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: Birmingham International Airport Flying to: Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Eileen Porteous Comments: Both flights late take off. Amsterdam: no seats allocated at check in (families and partners split) passengers put on standby although flights booked months earlier. Passengers kept standing in holding pen waiting for incoming flight to land and prepare for turnaround this was over 1 hour.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: Birmingham International Airport Flying to: Alicante Airport Class: Low Cost Seat Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Lexy Stevenson Comments: I always use BMI Baby, well wherever possible. I think they are very good. Excellent service. Return flight prices are sometimes exorbitant but that's just supply and demand. However. This time I was disappointed due to them "losing" my bag. They have proved very unhelpful in trying to get it back. Not sorry at all and not interested in trying to help me trace it. I am very annoyed at having lost so much stuff. A lot of it new but some of it older but its irritating nonetheless. That entire aside, BMI Baby are good, crew are always friendly and human, and always ready to chat and have a laugh etc. They do a lovely cup of tea and bacon roll. And a great gin and tonic, not that I would ever condone drinking alcohol on planes but if it's your birthday or something then 1 gin and tonic is civilised, as long as it's followed by lots of water to compensate!! I have never as yet had any kind of delay!! And I like the fact you can pre-book your seats so you don't get the scrum like you do with other "cheap" airlines!
Date of Travel: Sep 2006 Flying from: Palma Mallorca Airport Flying to: Birmingham International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Tony Bibby Comments: Flight delayed from 11.15 am till 2am next day. Given 23 euros in vouchers and no help or advice. Flight then cancelled at 2.10am put in hotel from 4 am to midday and flown to another airport at 3.15 pm then transferred to Birmingham 36 hours after arriving at Palma (usually a 2 and a half hour flight). Tried getting in touch with BMI baby to complain and have had no joy.
Date of Travel: Sep 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Celia Grundy Comments: A great cheap schedule airline, staff very helpful & polite, I have traveled with this airline twice & have booked them again for later in the year.
Date of Travel: Aug 2006 Flying from: Cardiff Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Low Cost Seat Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Terry Harding Comments: Our family of 5 adults and 3 children travelled on holiday to Palma on Sunday 6th August -my grandson\'s 6th Birthday. His birthday was announced over the speaker system by a flight attendant, we had a good flight out, no marks for food, and there is none except sandwiches which are available for purchase, but did have a good cup of tea.
Got caught up in the August security scare (was there ever a real threat, or was this a political game by John Reid?) at Palma Airport on our return, no hand luggage, so everything had to go in our cases, nonetheless, flight more or less on time back into Cardiff.
Have flown with bmibaby of several occasions, good value for money, easily bookable and you can reserve seats at modest cost - invaluable when there are eight of you wanting to sit together.
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: London Heathrow Airport Flying to: Naples Capodichno Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: F Flintstone Comments: Leg room seemed to be more generous than with other budget airlines I have
travelled with. The flight attendants were friendly, attentive and efficient. on the minus side, food and drink was over priced and defiantly not worth
the money. Take your own food and drink on board.
