Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: John F. Kennedy International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Kevin Oduba Comments: First time flying with Zoom as I usually use BA from Heathrow. I paid less than £300 less than 2 weeks before travel, BA would have cost me double that! Cabin Crew really are a credit to the company, I had always had touch and go crew on BA, but every single one of them was helpful and GENUINE! Nothing was too much trouble, no narky looks if you asked for water.
Food was standard airline fare, although well presented and tasty, drinks were plentiful and the crew were always on hand, they didn't run off and hide as is the norm with other airlines I've flown. Landed on time and felt relaxed, I'm actually looking forward to the flight home and will have no doubt in re-booking when I get home. Good Job Zoom!
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Vancouver International Airport Flying to: Manchester Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Sally Thornton Comments: While we had a good flight outbound we were very disappointed with our return flight with Zoom airlines and the poor response since. Flight delayed, last to board rather than first, due to technical problems, Canadian French staff not interested in passengers and quite off hand. They went by so quickly with both the duty free trolleys and refreshments we didn't even get chance to ask! It was as though they couldn't wait to land. The food was also awful and entertainment system not working. It was as though we had flown back with a different travel company. We requested refund for the extra £100 each we paid for economy plus and are very unhappy with reply from Zoom suggesting they had provided the service we paid for!
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Toronto Hamilton International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Russell Davidson Comments: Completely awful airline. Was delayed 20 hours outbound and 4 hours on the way home. No apology was offered. No flow of information regarding the delay. I was told I could "possibly" claim a refund if I was to contact their customer relations. COMPLETE LIES! If you ask them for a refund or compensation, you'll be told that your terms and conditions state "Zoom Airlines does not offer compensation for inconvenience or loss of personal/business time caused by schedule changes or flight delays." AVOID if possible!
Date of Travel: Oct 2006 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Toronto Pearson International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Not Specified Comments: Booked 5 return flights with zoom airlines returning on the 5th of November from Toronto to Glasgow none stop, booked the car park at Glasgow airport for the duration, booked 2 rooms in a hotel in Toronto for the night before we fly back.
Now just had a phone call telling us the flight is cancelled, and we will have to fly back on the 3rd or the 8th. Explained to zoom employee what we had arranged and were told those are the options or cancel, so we are having to fly back on the 3rd meaning we have paid to many days car parking at Glasgow. Have 25£ booking fee for changing hotel dates and the flight stops at Belfast on the way back, our previous flight was direct.
Not the employee on the phones fault but she couldn’t care less, attitude was annoying. Thankfully we haven’t booked any car hire in Canada yet or 2 days of that would have been wasted as well. Never again will we book with this company.
Date of Travel: Jul 2005 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Vancouver International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Simon Shearer Comments: It would be worth almost anything to fly direct from Scotland to North America direct, especially if one avoids Heathrow as a result, so Zoom starts with a huge advantage, but if you add that it's cheap, with good customer service and flies newish planes then it's marvellous. I just wish they flew to more destinations and from Edinburgh rather than Glasgow.
