Comments:Just took a flight with Thomsonfly to Venice. It was a really nice flight and so easy to book via their website. I was surprised by the cost of a Thomson flight much cheaper then I though as it was very reasonable for a flight into Venice. The crew was lovely and the food really tasty I did not pr-book a meal but had a snack on board. Also the in flight shopping is great I ended up spending more on that than the flight!!! But have some new aftershave to show for it. Took of on time and landed early. Will be back to Thomsonfly again soon.

Comments:Fly this route with Thomsonfly on a very regular basis. Always great staff, good food and all in all an enjoyable flight. For food and time keeping Thomsonfly has to be one of, if not the best among the UK charter airline companies. If I want 5 star, call me Sir treatment, I'd book with a scheduled airline one this or any other route. If I want value for money and a cheap getaway I use Thomsonfly.

Now, however, the sting in the tail. Four days before my return from Gran Canaria, I got an e-mail from Thomsonfly stating that the return flight originally scheduled for 12.50 hours had been moved to 01.10 hours the following morning. No reason given and only an option to click and accept the changes. I really couldn't be bothered waiting another 12 hours to get home so booked my return with another airline. Once home I contacted Thomsonfly who have told me that the change was due to time changes imposed by Air Traffic Control authorities. Uhhmmmm, I'm inclined not to believe this reason.

Whatever the reason though, everyone should be aware that the terms and conditions of booking state, in lay terms, that they can do whatever they like with the flight times once you've booked and you, the customer, have no comeback.

I guess you pays your money and takes your chance.

I'm just thankful I checked my e-mail whilst away, there were people at Gran Canaria airport who had not been told and had no option but to wait 12 hours for the flight.

I will fly Thomsonfly again, but with bated breath.

Comments:As a frequent flyer I can honestly say Thomson are THE worst airline on the face of the Earth.

Booked flights to Sharm, purchased additional legroom seats after it took 48 hrs to find the flight details at their so called customer service centre, paid over £120 to book seats and DIDNT get them.

To say customer service is poor would be too good to them !

PULL YA SOCKS UP THOMSON !!!

Buyer beware !!! Don't fly with Thomson !!!!!

Comments:Thomsonfly are as good as you pay, so remember: 1) safety comes first 2) cabin crew have to be onboard, as a legal requirement, not actually as most naive people think for serving you drinks! 3) As most have commented the food is Ok, not brilliant but what do you expect? If you don't like it BRING YOUR OWN and don't buy onboard or pre order the food that will never be fantastic. You have a choice! If you are prepared to travel on a scheduled airline and pay the price for business travel, don't complain.......and if you hate the experience that much then don't go on an aircraft, it's that simple.

When was the last time you were on a train/coach/ferry and were offered entertainment/drinks and food to purchase/a magazine to read? Other forms of public transport are an option so stop your silly moans, some people in the world will never be able to travel to other destinations full stop. It's a shame we live in a society where people will never be satisfied, what a pity. I have never hated air travel with any airline as much as other comments state and I have traveled extensively in both economy and business. My goodness is it this awful to have the ability to see other parts of the world, I think not! Count yourselves more fortunate than some.

Flights with most airlines (unless you are prepared to pay business class) are pretty much same. For me Thomsonfly was as adequate as any. Some people should just get a private jet.

Comments:We have just returned from our holiday in Paphos, Cyprus. Thomson flights to this resort were absolutely terrible we had delays of over 8 hours outbound and approx 5 hours homeward. The customer service at Manchester was extremely poor and rude, we were given a miserable five-pound food voucher out bound and four pounds homeward. After 9 hours we enquired about another food and drink voucher, the customer service gentleman told us Thomson thought one meal would be sufficient. I then politely asked the gentleman if he had had more than a drink and small sandwich that day to which I got the reply of mind my own business.

We paid to fly with Thomson however we were told at Manchester we would be flying with XL (A budget company). I found the overall "Thomson" experience very depressing especially as we were only having a week away and after the delays and subsequently arriving early morning we felt "jetlagged" and this obviously spoilt our overall holiday experience.

Needless to say we will not be traveling with Thomson again

Comments:Thomsonfly..... What a complete joke for an airline. Any one reading this review please please please I urge you never under any circumstances fly with Thomsonfly!!! I got a holiday package deal from London Luton to Sharm-el-sheikh, Egypt and wish I had known it was going to be Thomsonfly before I made the purchase. so be warned for those of you who make package holidays via call centres and online, always ask who your flying with.

Thomsonfly lost my suitcase (along with 7 others) for a period of 18 days not even loading it onto the airline. My holiday was just a week, so not only did I not have it for the whole duration of my holiday but had to wait a further 11 days before they decided to find it and deliver it back to me. there customer service/assistance is non-existent with no one contacting me despite numerous phone calls, voice messages and emails during the holiday. To make matters worse, they gave me a letter when I reported the case missing in Egypt, which advised to contact there luggage handlers, but no number was even given, just a nice blank white box.

What unnecessary stress, and a waste of time having to chase this shameful airline that doesn't even deserve to be called an airline. As for the trip itself, I don't think they understand what comfort actually means with the seats being so closely stacked together making it v.displeasing. Food was a joke and entertainment, well just forget about it!

I am currently in the process of claiming for compensation and they better cough up!

There's allot more a can say but I think I've vented enough for one day. Please take my advise to avoid any future holiday disappointment.

Happy travels…

Comments:Flight was delayed even though they tried to board us early. Seats and legroom were fine plenty of room to move about. The crew apart from the captains were terrible, the food was thrown to you with no "there you go, thank you." We upgraded the entertainment and it kept going off they had to re-boot the system and eventually it went off about 3 hours before landing and according to the air hostess it was due to turbulence whish is rubbish. Seatbelt sign was on yet people were still moving around, the captain told crew to stop duties due to turbulence yet they ignored him and were moving about and I even got hit on the head by luggage when the seatbelt sign was on. The crew doesn't listen to the captain so passengers don't listen to crew there's no authority on board and no regard to your safety. Never flying Thomson again

Comments:We boarded the plane at 22.15 due to fly at 22.20, we got on the plane and sat there for 30 mins, slowly getting hotter and hotter, then the captain came on the tanoy announcing because they had been late boarding we had missed our flight slot and would have to wait an hour, so we sat there still getting hotter, the captain then announced that the air conditioner was broken and we would cool down once in the air. We finally started to move at 23.30, but a woman was ill, so we moved back from the run way to the airport so the medical team could come on. We waited and waited and still no air conditioning and no drinks offered apart from the water in the water fountains which was warm. The captain then announced there was a problem with one of the engines and we would have to wait for someone to come out and fix it, because the plane wouldn't start!!!!!!!!!

then we didn't have enough fuel and had to wait for that, still no air con, at midnight they opened 2 doors to try and get a breeze, old people and small children were crowding round the doors, everybody feeling really rough and still no drinks offered.

We were then told the ill woman had been taken off the plane and her luggage was being removed, so we waited for that, and finally took off at 01.15. we were freezing once in the air, mainly from being too hot on the ground, no pillows were available or blankets, so my 5 year old slept shivering with his head on his knees.

when we landed at Birmingham we went to get the luggage and had to wait over an hour for that, when my husband asked a member of staff at the airport why there was a delay he was told that the woman who was ill on the plane at Palma hadn't been taken off the plane and an ambulance was waiting when we landed blocking the luggage doors.

Finally got the luggage and my pushchair was snapped clean in two so all in all I wasn't impressed with Thomson fly at all!!!!

Comments:The flight was on time and the comfort of the plane was better than most I have been on. Seemed to be more leg room. We did not have a meal so cannot comment on this factor, but did have refreshments and saw quite a lot of people ordering the snack box for the children, which looked good.

Return flight was also on time and actually we landed earlier than planned.

Baggage was quick to come through on both journeys.

Overall very good service.

Comments:Thomson decided to replace their plane within 4 weeks of flying to Palma with a Spanish Airline. When the plane arrived at Doncaster we all queued up when called and after waiting for 20 minutes we were told the plane had a problem and we would be informed of progress within 1 hour. When they came on the tannoy after 1 hour they told us the plane could not fly and they and vouchers for £3 would be distributed. We eventually took off from Doncaster at 2345 hours on a Thomson aircraft flown in from Gatwick which had just finished a flight from Tenerife. Why did Thomson replace their plane with a Spanish company in the first place?

Comments:I love flying with Thomson fly, the staff are excellent, and I never have the aeroplane meals as the flights are not long haul that I go on.

I have once prebooked seats however if you do a package holiday and rush to the airport early to get seats together you find that generally most of the time that seats are already allocated anyway.

It would be slightly better if you heard more news from pilot on area flying over and current weather temperatures etc, however this is not a problem anyway,

Comments:I can find no fault with this flights.
On boarding we had a little comfort pack on our seats. Throughout the flight there was TV, music, films, games and "where are we" on the screen on the back of the seat.
I had a book and the screen and that helped the time go by.
Food was good and staff were efficient.
On our return leg we had a slight delay of forty minutes but were told it was because of tail/head?? Winds that had delayed the flight coming out but that it would knock some time of our flight going back. The end result is we should have landed around the same time.
Unfortunately as we were beginning to leave the airport some guy kicked off and the plane had to return to the stand and security removed him. Unfortunately as the plane was switched on and off so quickly, the plane developed a fault in a sensor which caused a further delay.

Can I just say at this point that the staff behaved impeccably.
They took control of the situation and we have nothing but praise for them. Why anybody feels the need to complain to cabin crew as if it is there fault is beyond me.

They are responsible for our safety. If our safety consists of removing people who fight and ensuring the plane is fit to fly. I say Go for it!!!!!!!!!!

We were given soft drink on the tarmac. Our first drink from the bar was free.

Comments:We flew from Glasgow to Crete to join the Ocean Village cruise ship. The seating pitch is far too small and the seats too narrow. If you are above a size 12 and over 5ft 2in forget it, it should be called the DVT special, I didn't think this was still allowed in the 21st century. A lot of people were complaining of stiff sore legs. The in-flight bar service was practically non existent, after rows 8-9 no wine left. The food was good, they have enlisted Italian celebrity chef Aldo Zilli but what goes with Italian food, Yes Wine...

The flight times from Glasgow are also not very good. The outward bound flight arrives in Crete at 9pm and the return flight leaves Crete at 10pm arriving in Glasgow at 00:35am. Our outward flight was late so we weren't on the ship until 11pm and the ship is due to sail at 10pm the next week the Glasgow flight was even later.

Thomson fly flights from English airports are at much better times, these passengers arrived on the ship in the afternoon and left either late morning or afternoon, we know this as the departure times were relayed over the tannoy all day whilst we waited.

The return flight to Glasgow was just as cramped and before we took off the head stewardess announced we would be flying with a limited bar service.... they had no wine very limited spirits and then she proceeded to read out all the food listed and available from the in-flight magazine, she would have been better just keeping quiet than embarrassing herself, it just sounded as if she was trying to prove that they did have some things to sell.

We could certainly think twice about flying with them again even if it had been on a cheap package deal..

Comments:Surely Aldo Zilli cannot be held responsible for the deplorable food served on this outward flight. Pasta starter - not very good (but we don't expect perfection on holiday flights anyway), followed by a dismal pasta main course covered with cheese (my wife cannot eat cheese), all of this barely warm.

The return flight two weeks later (two hours late) meal only marginally better and slightly warmer, but the fold down tray folded too far, making it difficult to eat with one hand and hold the tray with the other. Have made other recent flights with easyjet - will do the same next time.

Comments:Delayed 3 hours on the way out without explanation - no-one seemed to know what was going on. The flight was full and we were all packed in like sardines many of the children on the flight were seated at the back which caused great aggravation to their ears my child included.

Return flight was changed to 2 hours later and but the time they let everyone on the plane it was another hour we booked the flight at a time which would suit our 4 year old but didn't seem much point. No apologies were made for change of flight and the cabin crew knew nothing about it.

On our arrival home we found a message on our phone from the previous day telling us the flight was changed ERRR we were in Majorca. Never again with Thomsonfly.

Comments:Phuket to Gatwick supposedly Premium but due to an incident at Al Ain with a toilet or food truck - depends upon what different flight crews tell you - the correct aircraft was damaged and the alternative was smaller with no Premium seating. And stopping at Al ain seems to be a waste of everyone's time - there is nothing there. Thomsonfly's problem is that they are too small, have failed to keep up with the market, need newer aircraft and do not have enough funding to run a good service. Aircraft are ageing and the standard seats are incredibly cramped. Don't believe the hype about the new 33" seat pitch, seat width is still an issue. When things go wrong then the problems within the Company become very quickly all too apparent. Communications with the UK are abysmal. No-one can get their stories straight and it can take days to get answers to something that should take 10 minutes - and you are paying the phone bill all the time!! There are different messages depending upon who you talk to whether in country or in the UK. Bad or wrong advice is given and the airline simply has no backup facilities, it's too small. Even the flight crews told us to fly on a 'proper' airline as Thomsonfly simply can't hack it any longer. From next year flights to Thailand are with Thai or BA as Thomsonfly can't afford to fly there on their own aircraft and are losing too much money discounting to fill the planes. The holiday side of the company is good, but from comments made to me at Phuket is hated by the aircrew (which doesn't help), and it is the airline that is showing its serious lack of investment. Fly with someone else would be my advice. It might be slightly more expensive, but it should be better.

Comments:The flights exceeded my expectations. No problems either way and very punctual. Aircraft both ways was a 767-200 as Thomsonfly has had a couple of unfortunate "accidents" recently with their 767-300 fleet, through no fault of their own. There were only 262 (leather) seats onboard compared to the normal 290 so the leg room was fine. Crews were brilliant and the in flight service good. I would definitely fly with them again and look forward to trying their new long haul product launching in May 2007.

In addition, the seats were filthy and the material torn in places. Attitude of staff on outward bound flight indifferent, which cabin crew having to check the manual before making announcements. The aircraft was cramped and outdated - more like one that should be used for an internal shuttle as opposed to long haul. Would, never, ever, use this airline again. Comments:I have never heard so much negative comments towards an airline!

Firstly someone has managed to write about Thomas Cook and another about East Midlands airport, that tells you about the people writing the reviews under Thomsonfly!

Secondly, half of the complaints and whining you have made are unbelievable "we only got a £3 voucher that wouldn't buy a sandwich" what??? Its not supposed to buy a four course meal but provide you with a bit of cash to get a drink or something until you get onboard, since when did any other airline give you more than £3/4 in delay vouchers!!

Thirdly if you pay in foreign currency other than the original origin of a plane such as a British aircraft and you use euros or a US aircraft and you use sterling, expect to pay for the specified exchange rates, if you don't like it, pay with your card or pay in the currency the prices are dictated in!

If you book a meal with a travel agent and they don't fulfill it then why blame the cabin crew or anyone else, your problem should be with the person who booked it! It says on your tickets No Meals it means you have no meals and they haven't been booked or provided, cabin crew cannot make one appear from thin air!

A meal deal does not include an "oversized mars-bar" but a double mars bar so if you don't want to eat a part of it keep the other half for later! Attendants had to find a bread roll for your daughter because someone else made a boo boo! You already mentioned you bought stale sandwiches silled with mayo and pickle, their is a choice to buy alternative products on the aircraft!

Most people have mentioned high prices for food and drinks, whoop-e-doo! Don't all hotels, airlines etc charge these prices, in fact Thomson is one of the the cheapest for the specified products it sells within the airline industry!

The seats are cramped?? they are the same as any other charter and are soon to be providing more legroom than other airlines, so before you waffle on about the legroom and seats just think your not alone and that every other charter is the same and low-cost is worse! Premium does have extra legroom, next time take a proper look and see....

If you "REQUEST" seats near to each other and you end up 37 rows back just remember it was a "REQUEST"!!

Unfortunately when another passenger in front is vomiting everywhere nobody really has any control over the situation, oh dear what a shame, not a pleasant experience but should the airline be faulted for that?

Now as you're most aware that most people write reviews on a bad experience, in some cases a good review on something that they felt deserved a mention. But too waffle on about useless and unhelpful information is displacing the point of a review! Most of the problems you have mentioned have nothing to do with the actual airline, delays happen, sorry but its true and the more air travel grows the more it will happen I'm afraid so get used to it!

I hope the bad and personal motivated reviewers find the same experiences in other airlines to show its not all one airline that is at fault.

Thanks for the moan

Comments:Going out from Gatwick was a real pain - the conveyor belt had broken down (so not even the fast track check-in available) and we had to join the end of a rather long queue, thus taking us just short of an hour to get to the counter! During this time, we had to show our passports/tickets to a member of staff with a portable system; good idea we thought, thinking that would mean just putting our cases through - no such luck, we had to get all the paperwork out and passed through AGAIN ('that's procedure' we were told)!! Naturally, this long wait meant the security queues were longer than had we gone through earlier, so we had no time to go into the duty free or have a coffee. Once on board, we had to wait for over an hour after takeoff before we were offered any refreshments. One saving grace was that the crew were very friendly and seemed happy in their work.

Luckily, check-in for the return leg of our journey was much better (even in what we had been warned was a chaotic airport with only one terminal open these days) and we had checked-in and gone through into departures within 15 minutes!

The bad side of the return journey was that not only were we 2 hours late in leaving, but the plane was not as good as going out, it had less legroom and less comfortable seats and the food served was quite disgusting. On top of that, we were 2 hours late

All in all, wasn't that impressed with Thomsonfly and don't think I'd recommend them for a long-haul (although, having said that, they are changing their long-haul flights from summer 2007 and offering more leg-room for everyone, which might improve things).

Comments:The flight from Manchester was bang on time but return was delayed, but only by 45 mins due to an accident with a member of staff. Airline food is adequate and should not be substituted for a 'proper' meal, so make sure you eat before take off and treat the on board meal as a put you on. There was enough leg room. Staff were polite. It is only a short flight so the only thing anybody should really complain about is if it is late.

Why are premium meals served after economy? No TV or video on rear of seats. And the 2 at the front of the plane didn't work! No welcome pack and not even my choice of meal. Return flight was better with improved service, but poor quality of meals, and remember its not much benefit having premium when your queuing in Goa!...everybody waits in the same long line. Comments:Our Premium flight to Montego bay was ok, but the return was not both my husbands and my seat where broken Flight TOM6184 the seat I was in 3A the head rest was broken and falling at an uncomfortable angle that I had to put pillows behind me to make it more comfortable, also the seat would not stay in anyone place if I leant on it, it would just go right back my husbands seating in 3B was the same not a very good flight home at all, I think we wasted £440 it cost us both, to up grade.

Comments:An absolutely abysmal flight the seats are so narrow that you are practically sitting on top of the person next to you. Not even enough room between seatbacks to lift your arm to eat the substandard food. If you did have to go the toilet you were made to feel as if you were getting in the way of the crew trying to sell you stuff. I had hot coffee spilled over me and not even an apology just that's what you get for being in our way, was nearly going to ask if I should sit out on the wing so as not to disturb the crew.

Comments:Truly awful! Never ever again, extremely uncomfortable, very very cramped seats. Worse still when you remember you have to get back on after the stop at Al Ain for another 7 hours.

Poor entertainment included showing the same episodes of Dr Who and Vicar of Dibley twice on the way out and no sound at all for the whole way back for our half of the plane.

The plane would be Ok for a short flight to Europe but not suitable for long haul.

Still recovering 5 days later!

Comments:Thomsonsfly make a big deal about how much leg space they provide. Seat width is the big, big issue. I sat next to a large lady who took up much space. I thought I could raise the arm rest between mine and my husbands seat so that I could at least sit back in my seat. The seats were so tightly set out that the arm rest would not raise more than a few centimetres. I felt so uncomfortable in the seat that I ended up standing outside the toilet for most of the inbound flight. This has really put me off flying.

Comments:We flew on the first flight of the season to Phuket. We were tempted by the reasonable package holiday cost but worried about a long flight on a charter aircraft. The main shambles seems to be with the refuel stop in Al Ain. This airport seems to suffer from fog and prohibited our landing on the way out. The aircraft landed instead in Abu Dhabi. Obviously Abu Dhabi was not expecting us at 2am local time and there was no one that Thomsonfly had arranged with the airport to be on hand to give passengers information. We had to wait for our crew to arrive from Al Ain and in all were delayed in Abu Dhabi for nearly 6 hours with no information. The return flight was also unable to land in Al Ain which resulted in a 3 hour delay on the way home. A point to note is that the catering for the return flight was taken on board in Abu Dhabi (or Al Ain if the aircraft manages to land!) so by the time you get your "breakfast" (awful by the way!) on the return flight it has been sat on board the aircraft for a very long time. I was glad to have brought my own food on board.

Generally the aircraft interior could have definitely have done with a spruce up. The seats are quite grubby and the material is quite badly stained. The legroom was adequate for a 2 hour flight to Spain but quite uncomfortable for a 14 hour long haul flight.

The cabin crew were ok. Nothing special.

All in all we got what we paid for. We won't be travelling charter again for a flight longer that 2-3 hours.

My parents have had similar timekeeping problems with Thomsonfly. Don't get me wrong I work for an airline and I know they cannot help weather and air traffic control delays but the handling and planning could have been a lot better.

We now call them Thomsoneventuallyfly.

Comments:We recently flew out to Zante with Thomsonfly, flight out and back were both good, on time.

East Midlands airport is good.

When it came to fly back from Zante airport, we found that far from making improvements to the airport as we were told was occurring last year, the facilities were WORSE this year!!!

They have TAKEN OUT seating in the departure "lounge"!!

It was bad enough last year but this year people were sat on the floor as there were not enough seats.

VERY POOR for an airport which is used by so many holidaymakers.

Comments:Be warned about paying in foreign currency on the aircraft . I paid two Cypriot pounds for lottery tickets and received just 10p (British) change, the actual change should have been approx 35p, this was made even worse when we paid for drinks we were ripped off good and proper the drinks came to £6.32 (UK), we were asked for £7 Cypriot and given just 70p (UK) change.

In flight food is also very expensive.

All of this with the usual cramped seats.

Comments:We had no problems at Birmingham airport with checking in especially as I have to carry 2 portable oxygen cylinders with me on the flight. Thomas cook were very friendly, especially as I am disabled and have to carry oxygen on flight with me. On the way out to Larnaca they made sure their oxygen was actually available for me to use should I need it.

When we landed at Larnaca I was taken ill and they really were very helpful. Even the captain came and spoke to me and my family and apologised for releasing the pressure so quick, hence having trouble with my breathing. And the staff at Larnaca were helpful as well and we had no problems checking in or out of Larnaca airport with my oxygen, like we had on a previous holiday to Paphos.

On the journey home they were even more helpful that before, the manageress of the flight told me I could use my own oxygen and explained to the captain the problems I had on the flight out. The home flight was fantastic and I didn’t have any breathing troubles or VCD attacks (first time ever) and the captain again came and spoke to me before we got off the plane.

So yes I would strongly recommend Birmingham Airport, Thomas Cook and Larnaca Airport in Cyprus.

Comments:I would never take a charter flight with Thomson again.

When we checked in, we were told that there was a 3 hour delay, and were offered a £3 refreshment voucher. This would not even buy a sandwich and a cup of coffee in the airport.

In spite of booking in-flight meals for both outward and return journeys, these being confirmed by the travel agent; when we picked up the tickets at the airport, there were no meals booked - this for a 9-10 hour flight with a 4 year old. The staff on board were unhelpful, with the attitude that there was nothing they could do - as there were no spare meals. Our option was to purchase a 'meal deal' - a choice of two soggy, stale sandwiches, ladened with mayonnaise or pickle (unsuitable for my 4 yr old), an oversized mars bar and tea or coffee. The attendants made no effort to find even a spare bread-roll for my daughter, who ate crisps and chocolate for the duration of the journey. In spite of complaining to the rep in resort, we suffered the same fate on the homeward journey too, although the stewardesses were more sympathetic and found something for my daughter to eat, but we still took our own food on board and ate a decent lunch before boarding.

My advice is to always bring your own food on board, and try and eat a decent meal before you go - somewhat difficult if you have a 4am check-in.

Also, Thomsonfly on-board prices for snacks and drinks are a complete -rip-off. Until the current security measures are relaxed i.e. liquids restrictions, Thomson have you over a barrel. I took an empty 1.5 litre water bottle on board (security let it through) and filled up at the water fountain near the loos.

The seats were cramped and not comfortable for a 9 hour flight - 2 hours to Spain might have been OK.

Even the 'Premium Economy' seats did not appear to be worth the extra - there did not appear to be much more legroom, just softer cushions.

Comments:Despite the fact that I had pre booked and paid for seating together and meals, we were put back 37 rows due to a technicality. When it came to meal time I was questioned as to whether I had purchased a meal (despite then knowing I had pre paid for seats etc) I had to prove to them that I had (it was stated a number of passengers with the same name were on the plane. Then I was told I am sorry, but we have no meals left and was given a sandwich and a Mars Bar (I am a diabetic so the mars bar was handed back).
When I returned I wrote to thomsonfly on four occassions and eventually they refunded my pre booked seats only for the one way out. I had to write yet again to request a refund for the meal that I had paid for and threaten them with reporting the matter to watchdog. I was eventually given a refund (again for the one way only) and not offered any compensation, regarding the fact that I advised them I had sent by recorded delivery. It took three months to obtain my due refund and I would never again recommend or travel with thomsonfly. The customer service attitude is an absolute disgrace as far as I am concerned.
We had travelled with our son and his girlfriend who were in premium economy and they had paid for pre booked seats to be as close to us as possible. No refund was offered or given for their seats as they had not complained.

Comments:Flew out to turkey with Thomsonlfy, having not used this airline before. Both the outbound and inbound flights were delayed, first by an hour and the second by three hours, flight had to divert to Gatwick because of computer problem.

The outbound flight was by far the best, having good seats, plenty of leg room and comfy. The food was not the best I’ve had but was adequate. Staff were polite and happy to help. We had a bit of a rough landing in Dalaman, so much so the luggage in the hold had moved to the point of jamming the hold door, my suitcase being the one that took the full force of finally getting the hold door open and was completely ruined. (Which I was told was the airport staff's fault).

Inbound flight was like I say the worst. After being delayed for three hours the staff weren’t in the best frame of mind. The plane was smaller so therefore more cramped. I’m 6ft tall and I was squashed and uncomfy all the way home. Again food wasn’t up to much. In flight entertainment was good, watched two recent movies and other sit-coms both ways.

So all in all, it wasn’t the best airline (by far) that I have travelled with, but you get what you pay for so would probably use them again.

Comments:Outbound we were delayed due to someone checking in but not arriving at the aircraft!!!

The crew was really good on this flight, the captain kept everyone informed where we were and which cities we were flying over etc.

But the return flight was something different. First trying to check in at Larnaca was like joining a rugby scrum. We arrived 3 and half hours before the flight was due and we were just clearing security when the final call for our flight was made. We were also told that our luggage may not make the flight due to the delay at check in.

When we finally got onto the aircraft the captain decided to wait for our luggage. So we sat for over an hour just waiting for this to happen.

Obviously the crew was not very happy about this, so they were all moody and not very friendly really.

The captain spoke to us just before take off and never said another word until we was descending into Manchester.

We managed to get our in-flight meal, but no bar or drinks service even on this 5 hour flight.

I have flown with this airline for many years, but I think we will shop around in future for an alternative airline!!!

Food was fine, staff very helpful and efficient.

Flight deck very professional and gave regular updates.

Inflight magazine had good selection of snacks and duty free items at quite good prices.

I have flown with them before to the same place and cannot really find any major fault.

Comments:The flight was on time! The seats were dirty with wine gums from the other flight before ours! The meals were alright apart from the Childs boxes as they leaked with drink everywhere. The seats were fairly cramped and unpleasant especially when the girl in front starts vomiting everywhere! After telling the airhostess 6 times they only brought the bag after she had vomited everywhere!!! It was unpleasant and they decided not to clean it up until the end of the flight when we arrived in Rhodes airport!!! Flight back was fine and smooth I would not recommend this to anyone on long haul flights.

Comments:A terrible flight back from Sharm el sheikh to London. An overnighter, five hours of sheer hell due to the cabin temperature being reduced on behalf of an ailing passenger. With not enough blankets and not even free hot drinks given out to alleviate the situation we all had to freeze for the entire journey, going so far as to try to wrap ourselves in in-flight magazines to keep warm.

On our return I suffered a frozen shoulder for over 2 months and upon complaining to the airline simply got a snotty standard letter.

Though I sympathize with the ill passenger, I feel that no passenger manifesting such symptoms should be allowed to fly in the first place, and as for the 'not enough blankets' plea given by the cabin crew, perhaps they should have just given out two per family instead of squandering the full amount on just a few lines of seats then quickly running out for the rest of the passengers, or asked the off-duty member of staff reclining comfortably across two extra legroom seats swaddled in several blankets to give up one of hers!

Comments:I rang special needs for a disable seat as I can't bend my left knee, also for diabetic meals.

I was allocated a seat with no room for my leg, and was told my alternative was to STAND by the toilet for 5+ hours, I sat on a seat which was extra leg room but charged £40. The meals I paid for were not boarded £24.

I asked for my money back but they declined, I appealed but still no joy, I contacted AUC they wrote them a letter and sent me a copy, 3 days later a check arrived for £68, but this took 8 months. Which is why they get the rating they have, they must improve

Comments:Flight Crew very attentive, polite and smiling.

Even though this was only a 2 and a bit hour flight, it seemed to pass quickly.

Seating was comfortable, with plenty of legroom, which helps if you are nearly 6ft, as one of our parties is.

Food was of good quality. Outbound was a breakfast, good, however, it was a bit dry, Inbound was a chicken dinner. Children’s meals were of equal quality and it helped that they had a bag of sweets in them.

In-Flight entertainment was the usual sit-coms....headsets cost £2 and not worth the money. They are those in-ear things that are always too big for your ears. Take your own if you remember.

Regular updates from the Captain, always nice to hear that there\'s someone there.

All in all, a pleasant flight.
