Date of Travel: Oct 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Punta Cana International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: D Hunt Comments: went to Punta Cana on October 22nd flying from Gatwick arrived early to check in to be handed sheet of paper explaining our flight was 18 hrs delayed . Gave us sum vouchers for dinner but couldn't check in to a hotel room for 7 hrs. Returned to airport at 10pm to catch 1.50 am flight to notice no MyTravel staff on hand to reassure us the flight was still ok. 10 mins before flight we were told we were going . My view this company gives very poor service to its customers. On a good note the flight itself was great and friendly crew but shall steer clear in future.
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Punta Cana International Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Michael Williams Comments: We flew out of Gatwick on MYT013, we had booked premier gold seats. The whole area was old worn and very shabby, backs of seats around the TV screens were pealing away. My seat base was broken and damaged so badly you couldn't sit in it for more than 10 mins without back pain, as luck had it there were spare seats available. The crew were very good and 10 out of 10, no shortage of drinks. Sorry couldn't say the same for the was back, though the plane was in very good condition, my leg room was partly obstructed by equipment under the seat in front of me. Some of the crew gave you the impression they just wanted to get the job over and done as soon as possible and get home. Drinks were slow, Fair enough it was a night flight, and they didn't look their best. The seats were uncomfortable, but the food was good. Premier baggage service where you get your bags first......forget it what a joke in both directions especially Gatwick.
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Vancouver International Airport Flying to: London Gatwick Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Tony Currell Comments: Flight was 5+ hours late no word of reason. Flight eventually came in from Manchester so it was obvious it was planned to be late we were flying to Gatwick. No one told us anything at check in. Had a struggle to get two seats together albeit we were some of the first to book in. Once on the aircraft it was dirty and the drops down tables on the seats were filthy with old food. The cabin crew were unhelpful and disorganised to say the least. The food was very poor along with the service from the cabin crew. We were packed in like sardines. We will never use this airline again and nor will our friends if they take our advice. They are very poor and the cabin crew very unprofessional. The only good point was the pilot got us to Gatwick safely.
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: phillip Comments: MyTravel I always thought was bad, but when we got a deal to Florida cheap I thought I would risk it. And was impressed, the only problem was the legroom. It was rubbish for a 9 hr flight. But apart from that it was good, would recommend to a friend.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Belfast International Airport Flying to: Mahon Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: F Schreuder Comments: I was traveling from Belfast to Mahon on a 2 1/2 hour flight. It was right on time. The staff were very friendly. Only problem was the space I myself am only 5 foot and I was very cramped my partner was even worse as he is over 6 foot. The flight it self was enjoyable though I would like to upgrade to gold next time I don't think this is right as I have been on many flights before and there should be much more leg room than there was on this flight
Then on the return flight the flight was 1/2 hour early witch was good because lots of little ones getting fed up sitting around the airport.
Overall great flight and crew apart for the space...would use again but only for quite short flights
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Chloe Comments: Was very pleased with the service provided on My Travel Airways! Flight was on time, very helpful cabin crew, and very comfy seats. Food to a good standard, good value for money. Would definately recommend to someone else. A lot more leg room than first choice and any other aircraft I have traveled on. Also seats were wide and seatbelts were of a good length. On the return flight we were put in extra legroom for free! What a god way to end your holiday! Looking forward to traveling with my travel again in October with a holiday to Rhodes.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Bristol Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Annette Davey Comments: Very good service on the flight, however I did feel very uncomfortable as the seats seem very jam packed. We had a night flight and a pillow and blanket were needed for my daughter, but these weren't supplied, you can however buy them.
A positive flight but would recommend extra leg room cause there isn't enough leg space for us tall people.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Mombasa Moi International Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Debbie Sutcliffe Comments: We have just returned from a holiday to Kenya which was unforgettable, unfortunately, so was our flights with My Travel, which spoilt a perfect experience.
We upgraded to Premier Gold (as this is what had been advised on travel forums regarding your flights) on the way out and paid extra for the extra leg room on the way back as we were unable to get gold both ways. I would like to say that they were both the most uncomfortable and unpleasant flights I have been on for many a year. It was like going back in time 20 odd years in cramped and uncomfortable seating without much in the way of in-flight entertainment and service.
On the way over, in gold, two of the four seats were very short of leg room and were very uncomfortable during an 8 hour flight, I have had more space and comfort on an Easy Jet economy flight. Even though we were given our own TV screens the ear pieces did not work properly, I am so glad that I wasn't asked to pay the customary £2.50! Also the person in our party trying to sleep whilst sat near the aisle was woken up several times by crew walking past them. We were not very impressed by how much we had to pay extra and for what we received for this. We have travelled extensively and have received a much better and more comfortable experience without having to upgrade with other airlines. Not very impressed with the amount of drinks actually offered during the flight to say that it was included in the extra cost
On the return journey luckily we had managed to get extra leg room, which we had to pay extra again for. This was a lot better but unfortunately we were unable to watch any of the in-flight films or TV programmes due to the angle of the screen, we would have all needed neck braces if we had watched anything. Also, we were unable to chose (how old-fashioned is this, on our last few flights, in ordinary economy class, we have had our own screens and could choose between films, TV or even play station games). As I stated before you couldn't just listen to the films either due to the earpieces and the faulty connections on the arm rests.
Once again the people sat near the aisles were constant being bumped into by the crew and never had an apology, we did end up laughing about this as some of them never even said please or thank you. The crew's random announcements over the tanoy were not very clear or informative and they didn't seem to know what they were trying to say anyway, very bizarre!!
As for the food on the way back, the first meal wasn't too bad if a bit tasteless and watery, meat very fatty, but the second meal was just a lump of doughy bread with a very very thin layer of topping and nothing else with it, no biscuit, or anything. Also, my husband's tray had graffiti written on it and they were all very grubby. The overall cleanliness of the plane was ok but it still looked as though it needed a good bottoming. Oh and one more thing the running out of toilet paper wasn't very good either.
All in all it was, as I have said previously one of the worse travel experiences I have had in a long time and will definitely not be travelling with My Travel again, even though it has been bought out by Thomas Cooks as we kept being told. I feel that as a company they are also letting the people of Kenya down as it will put people of travelling there due to them being one of a small minority of airlines flying there.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Faro Airport Flying to: Glasgow International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Not Specified Comments: We took off from faro when the door breaks down. We come all the way back, circle the airport and land. The airport closes and we disembark. We get our bags and on such short notice are sent off to hotel Eva****. It is 2.00am when we get there. Next morning on the coach and back to the airport. The estimated departure time passes and the aero plane breaks again. Mytravel sent us to hotel ria park*****!! Next day, a little late we get home! I think they handled it well in such short notice. It was 2.00am and the reps were at home and the airport only had security and leaving staff.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Montego Bay Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Kevin J O'Keefe Comments: Appalling! We booked with My Travel for a 14 day stay in a 5 star resort in Montego Bay Jamaica. Our flight was SUPPOSED to be MYT077 which was scheduled to leave London on Sunday 22nd July with a flight time of just over 9 hours.
We took advantage of the "night-before" check-in and went to an airport hotel to be fresh for the breakfast-time departure the next morning. However on check-in we were advised of a delay in our flight and asked for a contact number. I gave my mobile number. We were told to report to the airport at 7am next morning.
We got up and took an airport bus from our hotel to the airport. We were told of a delay and given a £5 breakfast token per person and asked to report back to the desk at 11am. When we got back, they gave some lame excuse and said that the flight was delayed for 24 hours!!
Some 2 hours later we queued for 45 mins to be allocated a hotel for the night. We queued for 1 hour to check into the hotel and were given 'starvation rations' in a communal dining facility. We felt like refugees. Notices proclaimed our flight would leave the next morning at 9-15am. We checked in again and were made to wait until 11-15 until the aircraft eventually got airborne, 27 hours late!
On board we weren't even given a complimentary packet of peanuts, let alone a drink! To make maters worse, the air conditioning failed, making the front of the plane impossibly hot and the rear filled with shivering passengers in icy temperatures. The meals were late. The food rubbish and the seat-pitch in economy as restrictive as any medieval torture device.
A quite ghastly experience! NEVER AGAIN.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Mombasa Moi International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Chris Preston Comments: To start with it was a very old 767 and the seats were very grubby and well worn. The entertainment (£2.50 per headset) was on TV screens between the overhead shelves. Every single one was showing a different colour and I'm sure some of them had screen burn.
All the travel companies seem to rave over their long haul aircraft with their extra leg room etc but this was not a pleasant experience and I hope other airlines are better than this. I've had more leg room with Easyjet. In fact with the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair at least you know that you are going to get a relatively new aircraft.
What really got me though was the cost of on-board drinks and snacks. This was a 9 hour flight so they have a captive audience and they make the most of it. A 330ml can of Stella Artois was £3 a bottle of water £1.80 and a bag of Maltesers £2.50.
The food was okay but I think that for the 9 hours, something more substantial would have been in order. The glass of orange with my meal had an orange tinge to it but that's it. It didn't taste much of anything else.
Fortunately the holiday was good. Unfortunately we had the same coming back.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Montego Bay Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Kevin J O'Keefe Comments: We were unlucky enough to have booked a package tour with Mytravel (Direct Holidays).
We booked 10 months prior to departure only to be told 1 month before we flew that the hotel selected was 'affected' by building works. We were offered an 'upgrade' to another hotel or a no-penalty cancellation and option to rebook. They prompted us for a particular hotel and we accepted that, on the understanding that it was an improvement on the original price paid. Had they been honest and told us that at the time the same hotel was being offered for £700 less than we had paid 9 months earlier, we would have cancelled and re-booked on the same day and made that saving. NAUGHTY Mytravel.
To cap it, our flight was delayed by an initial 24 hours. We were billeted to an on-airport hotel, having queued 3 times for more than 3 hours in total. We were given near-starvation rations and poor service during the initial delay. On arriving back at the airport 24 hours later, they added insult-to-injury by delaying the flight for almost another 3 hours. We could select the explanation of our choosing for the final delay (the cleaners remaining on board, as offered repeatedly by the dispatcher. Alternatively there was 'essential maintenance' proffered by the first officer after take off).
To compound matters the air conditioning failed over the Atlantic, so that the front of the aircraft sweltered in uncomfortable heat, while blankets were commandeered by the crew to take to the rear of the cabin, where passengers shivered in freezing-cold.
I could go on to criticize the cramped seat-pitch and dreadful food service, which was both sluggish and unappetizing......What a dreadful experience. Mismanaged disinformation, shoddy service and cramped conditions. Appalling!!
Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Fuerteventura Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Ruth Smith Comments: Just returned from Furteventura and I must say this is this first for a long time that our flight have been on time. Not only did we leave Glasgow 10mins early, on our return we were all boarded and left 20mins early and with a tail wind we arrive in Glasgow 35 mins ahead of schedule. Staff at both check-ins and on board were efficient and friendly. Can't comment on the meals as we didn't order any but the range of snacks were ok to keep you going. I would definitely ensure that we traveled with my travel on future holidays. Well done!
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: Newcastle International Airport Flying to: Mahon Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: CT Comments: Traveled with My Travel in May (and in October 2006) and have found the airline to be fabulous, the staff in particular are always extremely polite and nothing's too much trouble.
I would comment on the lack of leg room but I think that is the case with most airlines anyway so I don't hold it against them - the cost is only low as they get so many people on.
The captains came on both times to explain what the weather was like where we were going, and on landing. On the incoming flight one man started on an air stewardess and the staff handled it impeccably. The entertainment was good, though I personally feel it should be more children orientated (having a small daughter myself).
On the outgoing and the incoming flight we actually ended up taking of a little bit earlier than panned and that's what I come to expect from MyTravel - customers come first and if they can make things easier or better for you they do.
We never order the meals and I don't think many people did on our flights, as they seem expensive for what they are so I can't comment on them but highly recommended airline.
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: Birmingham International Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Emma Hartley Comments: We flew to Dalaman on a MyTravel flight - and it was wonderful. Leg room could have been a little better, as I found it very cramped, and I'm just over 5 foot, I don't know how my partner managed being over 6 foot. It was my luck to get the annoying passengers behind who were kicking my seat, and generally being irritating, pushing my chair as if it would give them more leg room!!!! But a quick word soon sorted that. Meals were good quality (for an in-flight meal!) Although refreshments should have been offered more, as you are given one with your meal, and then anymore you have to pay for, which wasn't exactly cheap but then again, places and situations like that tend to be dearer! Staff friendly and helpful. In flight entertainment was good, although the headset that we had to purchase for £2.50 each broke, but they soon changed it free off charge. Return flight was just as good. Would definitely recommend to a friend, and have already booked again for next year!
Date of Travel: Apr 2007 Flying from: Newcastle International Airport Flying to: Palma Mallorca Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Adrian Taylor Comments: Me and my wife traveled to Palma in April flight was on time both departing and returning. Staff was well mannered and polite the plane was clean and tidy. However the food both ways was dreadful and there isn't a lot of room whilst sat in your seat. Because it was only a two and a half hour flight it was ok.
Date of Travel: Apr 2007 Flying from: Belfast International Airport Flying to: Paphos International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Judith Comments: I traveled Mytravel on a package holiday (my first in years) in April. I found the quality of the staff, food and entertainment to be of a high standard. However, there were no blankets for anyone on a night flight and the leg room of the seats was atrocious. I've done a 21 hour flight before and this 5 hour flight from Paphos to Belfast, felt like the longest of my life!! Also paying over £1 for a tiny bottle of water is really scandalous. Most airlines will at least offer free water on their flights.
I found them generally to be ok, I wouldn't be going out of my way to use them again and if I had an alternative I would take that.
Date of Travel: Apr 2007 Flying from: Edinburgh Airport Flying to: Tenerife South Reina Sofia Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Jay Thomson Comments: I recently flew with MyTravel Airways from Edinburgh to Tenerife.
From the minute we checked in till we got the other end the staff and service were second to none. It was me and my mum who is disabled that were travelling and the MyTravel Staff were Excellent they went out of there way to help us, exceeded both our expectations. We always Try and Get a MyTravel flight as we have been flying with them since They were the old Airtours International and every time they get better.
The staff attitude on board is excellent they are very smart, polite and friendly towards the passengers.
The meals are nice aswell (better than normal plane food) and they deserve to have won awards for that.
The only issue with some of there aircrafts is the legroom. Not all the seats are the same but the outbound flight I didn't have alot of room there to spare and in 6"1 but on the inbound flight I had more room and was more comfortable.
Overall I think that MyTravel are getting better and there punctuality has certainly improved over the years.
I would certainly fly With MyTravel airways again and I look forward to flying with them in June to Cancun.

I had read a few reports and comments over My Travel airways which were not very complimentary, I feel that this must of been a different airline to what I was flying, as I found My Travel outstanding, we flew premier gold and it was worth the extra fee we paid, we arrived fresh and able, I am a large chap of 6 feet tall and 128kg(BIG) and I found the flight outstanding to the fact we have booked the whole family premier gold to Goa for Xmas this year.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: Birmingham International Airport Flying to: Monastir Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Adam, Coventry Comments: MyTravel Airways flight to Monastir was fantastic the staff were great, meals where fantastic, seats where leather and had plenty of legroom and we landed 45 minutes early. On the way home same again but we landed in Birmingham 1 hour early. I would definitely fly again with MyTravel the the best airline. I Think they should be rated as 5* airline.

The flight as a whole was good other than the fact that it was so cramped and the lady in front of me decided it would be a good idea to recline until I protested!
We had 4 hrs flying so it wasn't so long but def the longest I would travel like that!
We also opted not too have the meal when we booked saving £6 per person each way however they offered meals on the plane for £4.50 so my girlfriend had
But overall good service and good flight
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Goa International Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Sue Cox Comments: We paid extra for a premier gold seat expecting a similar class to the First Choice premier seating. We were very disappointed. The seats were old and tatty and didn't seem as wide as the sides were solid. The TV screens were old and distorted and the TV system was way out of date. The films were started before we knew they were going to be, so missed the start of the films. There was no comfort pack and the newspapers ran out after the first five passengers. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. First Choice is definitely first choice unless MyTravel upgrade with the merger with Thomas Cook. Meals substandard.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Male International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Mike Dakin Comments: This was our third trip to the Maldives and as usual the flight is quite long. Although we were on a package with Thomas Cook we flew with My Travel.
The flight out started bad with an hours delay once we had embarked. No real explanation why for the delay but we landed on time so it was no big problem.
The flight back was a pantomime of epic proportions. Booking in no problem except I asked for a window seat and was told they were all reserved.
We got seats 2 rows from the back and noticed the row behind us was empty. I asked a crew member about moving but was told the empty row was a "Crew rest area".
Once we took off I noticed that the row in front was also empty so asked another crew member if we could move. Not only could we not move as that was also "Crew rest area" but we couldn't even sit where we had been allocated as that was also a "Crew rest area". I began to wonder how many crew there were!
So like a pair of lost souls we wandered forward and noticed a pair of empty seats by the window, having been told earlier there were none spare!
Strangely enough there was a blonde (Scottish) lady and a child sitting in a row of seats in the middle of the plane and her friend behind her also had a row to herself and one child. Even stranger was the fact that the window seats on the other side of the plane to the Scottish lady were also empty.
My imagination ran wild when it turns out that this blonde lady is the captain's wife! and it looked to me as if her and her friend were going to have a row each and the 2 children the 2 seats either side by the window.
I eventually sat in the same row as the blonde but not until she had tried to claim that the seat I sat in was her Childs. The fact that the child had moved onto the row behind seemed not to be a point!
I was so hacked off with this that when the Thomas cook satisfaction forms were passed round I started to fill it in but gave up as there was not enough room to put all the details on.
I fired off an e mail detailing chapter and verse and after a number of replies apologising for the delay I was told that as I had not filled in the customer satisfaction form nothing could be done!
So to all traveling on MY Travel don't forget to fill in the B form!
Going once again next year but with Monarch this time!
Date of Travel: Oct 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Montego Bay Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Paul Comments: My girlfriend and I went to Jamaica in October and got a direct flight with MyTravel. It was a 10 hour flight from hell.
The seats were incredibly cramped and if the person in front reclines then it becomes almost torturous. The seat back TV\'s only worked occasionally and you had to spend £2.50 for the rubbishy headphones. The meals were basic and quite foul. But the worst of it all was the poor attitude of the flight attendants. I honestly never saw one of them smile on the way there or on the return flight.
On the way back, absolutely none of the TV\'s worked so spent the whole 9 hours with nothing to do whatsoever. Again, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The lady sitting next to me had to ask four times for a glass of water and waited 30 minutes. I spoke to a few people on the plane and they were all of the opinion that the staff had no interest in them.
I would definitely NOT recommend this airline. They may be more tolerable for a short flight but if you’re going long haul then you really need a bit more comfort and amicable staff. You have been warned.
Date of Travel: Oct 2006 Flying from: Agadir Al-Massira Airport Flying to: London Gatwick Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Andrea Comments: We were delayed at Agadir airport for 3 hours due to technical problems but this was soon sorted.
The meals on the plane were quite good, small but it still feels you up.
The stewards were very friendly both there and back. Good enough leg room but for tall people it might be a problem. Entertainment was kind of good - my mum burst out laughing watching pink panther! Lol.
Overall, MyTravel airways was a good airline to fly with because it was my first time abroad and I really enjoyed it!

Never, never again with this bunch of sky cowboys!
Date of Travel: Sep 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: R Hussey Comments: Having flown to Orlando with My Travel Airways three times now, sadly this year I was not impressed. We always upgrade on Charters and Scheduled Flights where we can, and this year with My Travel Airways was no different opting for their 'Premier Gold' Cabin.
Essentially, we have always sung praises of this service, but this year we noticed shabby looking Premier cabins, heavily scratched seatback TV screens, and a general need for refurbishment/replacement of some seats/cabin facilities.
Our outward journey was good, with the usual priority check in, although we had to wait as some standard class passengers were being booked in at Premier Gold desks!
The Cabin service was excellent, with highly professional attentive staff, but the seat back TV entertainment a little disappointing.
The flight left pretty much on time, with no significant delays.
However, the return night flight left me in no doubt as to try another carrier in future.
The Flight again left pretty much on time, delays caused by security clearance to Aircraft, although again not significant. Cabin crew service was good although a little hurried, (Meals just 'plonked' in front of you!)
Complimentary newspapers issued (Guardian/Telegraph) was a nice touch. Thanks for not dishing out the usual gutter press! Top Gear and Hello magazines were made available for purchase. So following the screening of the Pink Panther, I settled down to read the daily newspaper/book I had brought when the lights were understandably turned off. I went to turn the reading light on, but it didn't work.
I asked my Wife if hers did, and again it didn't. I pushed the Crew summon button, but this didn't work either, so I proceeded to the Cabin Crew and asked if my reading light could be turned on. "No, they're not working. Well if they are, they wont switch off, and if they're not they wont switch on, and we can't reset the system until we land"
So essentially I had to endure a further 3-4 hours of pretty poor seat back TV, until breakfast was hurriedly distributed an hour before landing.
If My Travel were to upgrade their 'upgrade' cabin this flight would have been good. They have been good previously, but need to invest if this upgrade is to remain competitive and sustainable.
In short until their small fleet of long haul aircraft (?3) is upgraded I will look elsewhere.
Date of Travel: Aug 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Bev Williams Comments: I recently travelled with my travel to Orlando and was a bit worried as I have found there short haul flights a bit uncomfortable but surprisingly the long haul was much better still not a great lot of legroom but not too bad . We had 3 films on during each flight on seat back TVs which are much better than the monitors on short haul and we were all given pillows and blankets and despite the extra security we still took off on time outward and 30 mins late coming back but with good tailwinds we arrived back in Manchester at the expected time. We had 2 meals on each flight which were about as good as you expect on a plane and all staff were polite and helpful. So all in all quite good would fly with them again.
Date of Travel: Aug 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Bev Black Comments: Flight was 9 hours 20 mins. The crew on the flight were excellent. Flight out took off was on time and security was ample. Pity their planes aren't the same. Sat in seats of 2, 4 rows from the back of the plane. Worst seats I have ever sat in. Had a frozen shoulder by the time we landed.
Food was tasteless and bland. Didn't eat the meals on the return flight. TV monitors not very clear and choice of viewing was very poor. Not enough pillows and blankets to go around on the plane on the through night flight home so the pilot kept the cabin warmer. This made the air muggy and uncomfortable.
The toilet area was clean but the toilets didn't flush properly. Two of the toilets were eventually taken out of order.
A certain party on the flight had a member of staff as a relative and received special treatment. They were served first and managed to get 4 pillows off the air hostess who 5 minutes before had told my husband that they had none to spare.
We have travelled with several airlines over the past 20 years and for long haul travelling this airline has proved to be the worst.
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Cancun Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Mariella Ashall Comments: I booked a prestige holiday to Mexico travelling with mytravel-first and last time with them. It was a 10 hour flight-all drinks had to be paid for!!!! Over a pound for water-all snacks again had to be paid for and prices were over the top. There were no children’s channels-a 10 hour flight and no entertainment for them!!! Totally disgusting. All adults films had been out for sometime and the programmes shown were so old-and yes you had to buy headsets at £2.50 each!!! No goody packs for the children-on the way home daughter was proudly given a Beano comic-dated August 27th 2005!!!!! Outward journey there were not enough pillows and blankets for everyone so some children were provided with some. The staff were also very rude on the return flight-daughters TV screen did not work and the air hostess was extremely curt and rude. I would never ever book or travel with them again-for the money I paid I thought it was totally disgusting.
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Bourgas Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Joanne Flint Comments: This was the first time we had used My Travel Airways and what can I say, the flight attendants were really pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. I travelled with 2 children, 10 & 1 and my 1 yr old was a quite upset on both outbound and inbound but the attendants were quick to ask if there was anything they could do. We would definitely recommend this airline.
Check in was so simple, no queues and we were dropped off right outside by our courtesy coach from the hotel where we stayed and picked up right outside on return. The biggest bonus for us was that when we arrived at Bourgas airport (Bulgaria) my 1 yr olds buggy was brought off the plane separately so we could use it straight away, no having to wait for it to get loaded off with the rest of the luggage.
We flew from Manchester (as we wouldn't fly from anywhere else), not just yet anyway! We like Manchester as it is easy to get to and plenty to do once inside. We, as a family have never had huge delays, terrible service or anything flying from there. Would recommend the airport, always.

Comments: I've flown to this airport with MyTravel for the last few years and have only had one small problem. Last year there weren't enough meals on the flight but my two kids didn't mind and were given drinks and snacks instead. Passengers were asked if they minded and my two volunteered! Leg room was ok, I'm 5ft 8inches, nice clean seats and friendly staff. Food ok and flights were always on time.
Date of Travel: Jun 2006 Flying from: Newcastle International Airport Flying to: Bodrum Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Perry Leslie Maddison Comments: The flight left half an hour late on the outbound which was not to bad but left half an hour early on the return so I guess that cancelled the delay, the staff where first class, we did not order the in-flight food as it was quite expensive for what it was we ate at the airport before we travelled and had a good choice.
The biggest gripe would be the very limited leg room which does very from airline to airline although I do a lot of air miles a year on the MyTravel flight it did seem to be much more restricted than others, the aircraft was very clean and the seats where in good condition. Our overall would be 7 out of 10 as when your flight time is over 3 hours you would really appreciate that little bit more leg room and I think it is about time the airlines where more aware of this.
Date of Travel: Apr 2006 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: J Ashworth Comments: It was a long 7 hour flight to Sanford Airport in Florida. We were give the door seats which we were really chuffed about until we got on the flight and realised that there was no TV that we could see. We mentioned this to the steward who said there was nothing he could do about it as the flight was full so we just had to sit there for seven hours with nothing to do. Even the radio didn't work in the seats either. I was sooooo bored. It was a really old plane with ashtrays still in the seats and was the type of plane you get on a cheap euro package with tiny seats. After seven hours, I just couldn't wait to get off. I've flown to America 5 times and this was by far the worst - I would do everything I could to avoid this type of flight next time. Flight back was better because at least we could see the TV although the films on board had already been released in the UK so we had seen them. The leg room was terrible. Overall a pretty rubbish experience.
Date of Travel: Sep 2005 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Paphos International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Gemma Bailey Comments: The legroom on the flight we went on was dreadful. My wife is only 5ft 3" and she thought the legroom was tight. I'm 6ft 2" and I could not sit down for the whole flight as the leg room was so bad. This is not an exaggeration it was that bad!!
Date of Travel: Jul 2005 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Sanford International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Andrea Comments: My partner and I went on our first holiday last year-we wanted it to be one to remember so we went to Florida! Unfortunately, it didn't get off to the best start.
We'd booked the whole holiday with MyTravel.
The flight was poor with the seats tiny. I'm a small person but found that I didn't have enough leg room or anything. The meal wasn't included and it was far too hot in the plane. When we arrived to get our car, despite being assured by MyTravel we had insurance, we had to fork out an extra 200 dollars for I don't know what.
Luckily, the accommodation was fantastic for our needs, but we dreaded the flight back-we were right to! It was exactly the same as the way there, never mind!
