Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Rhodes Diagoras Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Jeff Scott Comments: Check in at Gatwick is very easy with the online facility, you can choose your seats from the comfort of home - a great idea. Excellent flight, lots of room with comfortable leather seats. Crew very helpful and meals were good. Free drinks and snacks. All in all the best flight I have had to Rhodes. Return was just as good.
Will it be the same now GB is part of EasyJet and not BA?
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Paphos International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Hammond Comments: Outward flight pretty much on time, cabin staff professional and friendly. Food quite acceptable. Return flight, over one hour late (although some of the time made up during the flight). Type of food not good for late serving (10pm UK time, 12am local time).
We were unfortunate enough to be allocated row 35 (right at the back) with upright seats. These had 'wrap around' type headrests, but if you're less than about 5'5" tall, head doesn't fit in so extremely uncomfortable if wanting to sleep. The toilets and galley were immediately behind us and the cabin staff were noisy both verbally and in their work - quite un-professional.
Also, we purchased duty-free item priced £23GB, offered £20Cypriot and were asked for more. Actual price in £Cypriot should have been less than £20. Someone needs to brush up on their arithmetic!
Date of Travel: Mar 2007 Flying from: Bristol Airport Flying to: Tenerife South Reina Sofia Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Malcom Comments: Good price from a regional airport.
Able to choose seats outward and got extra legroom but not able to book inward for some reason.
Not warned clearly enough on website that there was a charge for food but it was quite good value at £6.
Would use again.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Lanzarote Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Mr. A. D. Allen Comments: By careful selection of the B.A. website we selected the most economical cost of flights and got return flights for £105 each. Food, drinks, service all good. Slightly late in departing on both flights but pilot made up time.
Date of Travel: Jun 2006 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Bastia Poretta Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Bill James Comments: Although the ticket price almost matched a budget airline price, the value was excellent. On time, excellent hot food (no extra charge) excellent cabin service. Definitely use this airline again.
Date of Travel: May 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Dubrovnik Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Jean Robb Comments: We travelled with GB Airways, a subsidiary of B.A. Manchester to Dubrovnik on 30th May and returned 13 June. I booked the flights online in January for £307 for 2 of us. I was able to check in online the day before and chose the exit row so more-leg room but I believe the other seats all had plenty of leg-room anyway. The seats were leather. There were no queues at check-in at Manchester (you go to the Quick-drop desks). Both flights were on time, the crew seeming very efficient. The breakfast going out was quite acceptable but coming back we only got a cheese roll. The drinks were free but only water or fruit juice. Alcoholic drinks were available at a price. There was no entertainment but it was only a short flight. Overall we were very pleased for the price we paid but I had to pay in full, at the time of booking, 5 months before travel.
