Date of Travel: Oct 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Larnaca Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Chris Smyth Comments: We flew with Eurocypria via Olympic Holidays.
We experienced over 9 1/2 hours delay going out and 14 1/2 hours coming back. On both occasions we were told this was due to technical faults. We later found out that the airline had cancelled these flights because of aircraft shortage (long standing) and knew well in advance( in excess of one day in the case of the return journey) that there would be very long delays. On contacting the airline to confirm the flight times, we were lied to, and told the flights would leave on time and no attempt was made to contact us, despite them having our phone numbers. We were only made aware of the delays after we had checked in our luggage. We are sure this was a deliberate act to prevent us cancelling and buying another flight. We have since found out that this is a regular occurrence with this airline.
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Larnaca Airport Flying to: Humberside International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Mr N Leese Comments: Arrived Larnaca airport Wednesday !9th September two hours before flight at 18:45 sorry flight cancelled ... not to worry coach will pick me up at 1830 to take everyone to Hilton Hotel Nicosia. Full board till next afternoon. Drinks at meals included. Had a great extra day flew back next day as promised. On return flight complimentary drink included. Mines Champagne. Good service not their fault plane broke down bound to happen occasionally its what they do when it happens that counts. And they got it correct. Recommend to friend yes just don't expect the food on short haul aircraft to be cordon bleu. Oh and airport parking no extra to pay.
Date of Travel: Apr 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Paphos International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Mr W T Beer Comments: Travelling with a wheelchair the flight attendants were extremely helpful, courteous and polite. On the return flight we were able to move to the front seats on the aircraft with more legroom and easier access to the toilets, etc., for my disabled companion.
The food was OK, but drinks (except with meals) were not free as on some airlines. There was only one in-flight film, on overhead screens, and there was a charge for headphones to watch it.
