Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Shannon Airport Flying to: John F. Kennedy International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: K C Eastwood Comments: The flight to America was fine. Plenty of complimentary food and drink (soft drinks only though). Helpful staff at the airport and on the flight. Films to watch on a shared screen, these were ok.
As the price for the flight was extremely competitive, I would recommend the Shannon to New York service to anyone.
The service was nowhere near as good on the connecting flights with Delta in America and Delta attendants at JFK Airport were rude overall and extremely unhelpful (this was regarding lost baggage and a missed flight delaying us 26 hours).
Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: San Francisco International Airport Flying to: Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Frequent Flyer Comments: Actually, I never made on this flight. Delta oversold too many tickets. The compensation was $400 of "delta money" -- useless! Yet, they lost my baggage when it flew without me and didn't come back. Calling baggage claim is extremely time-consuming because they are "experiencing a high volume of calls..." Not surprised. Delta gets worse and worse. Sad...

4hr queue outside the terminal as only one entrance for every international Delta flight leaving that day. No organisation by staff, people queue jumping and many missed their flights. Service at check in unfriendly - no apologies given. Again large queues to go through security the personnel here were rude and aggressive and it resembled a cattle market, all food services closed except the pizza place which had cold pizza and rude staff. Flight was going to be off early then had to wait whilst they loaded more meals and finally we were never served breakfast due to turbulence as we approached Manchester - the crew certainly didn't work very hard on that flight and they all looked ready to retire!
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: John F. Kennedy International Airport Flying to: San Francisco International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: R & E Cunnigham Comments: We booked round trip through delta air lines to Prague, check republic. Connecting flights between Kennedy and Prague via check republic air line. On return from Prague to Kennedy airport landing was delayed by Kennedy repairs. New boarding pass required by delta to be issued at Kennedy for continued trip. After passing through customs and immigration we had about 45 minutes to get an ongoing boarding pass at Kennedy boarding from delta. Other airlines had special desk to handle connecting foreign passengers boarding pass, but not delta! Delta required us to get in line with about 100 other ticketing passengers to receive the new boarding passes. We appealed for help to the delta person in charge as we still had time to make the connecting flight. He was insulting and refused to help. After about 45 minutes we received our boarding passes. Our original delta flights was gone and we had to wait over six hours for an other flight to so.
We were placed on standby for this flight. My wife and I are in our 80’s fortunately I complained to delta
As only six people out of dozen or more standbys made that flight.
