Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Marsa Alam International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Kimberley Comments: Having never heard of Astraeus we were a little worried. We had flown twice to Egypt with excel and it was cramped and horrible. ten out of ten for Astraeus it was a 757 and more spacey than XL crew were a lot nicer and couldn't do enough for you and we had free papers magazines and cookies on the flight I will look forward to traveling with Astraeus next year to Sharm. Thank you Astraeus.

This is one of the best airlines I have been on. Plenty of leg room especially as I am 6ft. Very pleasant crew, meals where excellent. Bravo Astraeus A+++ 100 %
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Verona Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Ray Warren Comments: 34 hour delay going and 8.25 hour delay returning. Had so many different stories I have no idea what the true reason for delays was. Any business which treats its customers this way deserves to go bust. If I had it in writing on departure that there was a technical problem with the plane I could have claimed full refund via holiday insurance and gone home, only wish I had gone home and avoided rest of this miserable holiday booked through Crystal holidays. The full story of this nightmare journey is too long to tell. Hope nobody else has to experience this.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Bergamo Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Bmac Comments: Excellent early flight outbound to Italy - helpful friendly cabin crew greetings with a buck's fizz and an enjoyable breakfast. Lots of room - very professional service. Return flight spot on time - full aircraft but well managed -
Like all air travel you can have good and bad trips - this was a good one -
Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Verona Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Colin Fairclough Comments: Our flight was due to leave at 0615. The flight (package holiday with Crystal Holidays) eventually left after a 33 hour delay. My wife and I cancelled our holiday when the delay had gone on for 18 hours. The stress of the delay was too much - although a day room was allocated at the nearby Hilton Hotel. Passengers were told to be back in the terminal at 1730 for a revised flight time of 1945. This meant standing (no seating available) for five hours before the flight time of 1455 the next day was announced. No Astraeus staff appeared to explain what was happening. No one appears to want to make a full refund of all our monies. Reasons for the delay? No full crew available, and no replacement aircraft available anywhere in Europe! Insurance only appears to cover technical or mechanical problems.
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Marsa Alam International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Pat Houston Comments: Flew from Gatwick on their 757. Excellent cabin crew- very cheerful and professional. The aircraft was clean and very spacious - more legroom than any other flight I have been on and all in all I would thoroughly recommend this airline. Flight was on time both ways - food was as good as can be expected served with a smile.
Date of Travel: Feb 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Banjul International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Michael Houlden Comments: Sheer professionalism, friendly service and, because I have walking difficulties, a superb service getting me on and off the aircraft and through immigration and customs. I could recommend this airline to anyone. 'Star' Class coming back was even better. Thank you to all - pity about the holiday though......
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: Gran Canaria Las Palmas Airport Flying to: Leeds Bradford Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Not Specified Comments: Having booked a package holiday with Thomson I assumed we would be flying with Thomson. How wrong I was. On trying to pre book seats, which Thomson said I could and after several phone calls I was finally told that it’s not allowed with this airline? Nor do they allow you to pre book excess baggage.
Our outbound flight was ok and on time our return trip was a nightmare. A delay of over 11 hours no real reason for this the agents said mechanical fault and the handling agent said staff illness. However, the flight had not even left the UK. On return to the UK I rang and emailed the airline to ask for a refund as we had to pay to come home with another airline as we had commitments at home and after several emails was told to consult there lawyer as they don’t give refunds.
In my opinion the airline is the worst i've ever been with and would never fly with them again.
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: R Smith Comments: The 0630hrs flight from Manchester was on time, and the charges for extra scuba dive kit had been made quite clear prior to the flight. The breakfast was an absolute delight, being hot, well cooked and the sausage especially was quite the best I have sampled on any flight. The return flight was just as good, albeit 30mins late departing, but only 15mins late arriving back at Manchester. I believe that good service should be publicly acclaimed, and Astraeus certainly succeeded on this occasion.
Date of Travel: Jul 2006 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Kalamata Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Diane Acton Comments: We flew on a 757 and sat in the front section with the leather seats and have to say it was the best flight we've ever had. Loads of legroom - I could stretch my legs right out in front of me and I hardly noticed when the lady in front of me reclined her seat! The seats were wide and very comfortable - apparently they take the middle seat out to make it a 2 - 2 configuration on their star class.
We flew at 6am on our outbound flight and were given a free bucks fizz before our breakfast! Meals are complimentary on all their flights and are very nice too.
We couldn't fault the aircrew in any way they were all very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely fly with this airline again they were superb - just hope they continue to offer such a good service in the future.

After 6 hours got a voucher for food and a drink. Nowhere to sit really comfortably.
on the way back 4 hour delays coming home then waited 3 hours for luggage, nightmare. And again when asked for details customer service were plain rude.
