Date of Travel: Jun 2007 Flying from: Toronto Pearson International Airport Flying to: London Gatwick Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Rob Martin Comments: Absolutely NO Legroom (despite paying extra for an extra-legroom seats that we didn't get). I am 6-1 and for the entire flight my legs were jammed into the back of the seat in front-my partner is 5-2 and even she was uncomfortable. Impossible to have anything close to a nap because of the restrictive confines so we arrived at LGW mid morning feeling like hell. Their food is awful and the flight attendants are the least attentive of any airline's staff that I have encountered. I would not recommend Air Transat to anybody other than people I didn't like. I thought my flight with Iran Air in 1979 was never going to be beaten for poor quality but congratulations Air Transat-you are the new champions.
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: Calgary International Airport Flying to: Varadero Juan Gualberto Gomez Airport Class: First Class Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Sandra Comments: Our flight to Cuba was uneventful however our experience on the way home to Calgary was very different. After checking our luggage with a Transat employee it was destroyed and many items were missing from them. I spoke to a representative from Transat and was informed that they take no responsibility for lost items so as not to be financially responsible. We were told not to pack any valuable items in our suitcases however we were only allowed a small carry on so we had to pack some things in our luggage to check. We were expecting some level of safety for our luggage but received none. I am concerned about the safety of this airline if no one is responsible for the luggage after it is checked. If criminals have access to our luggage what's to say that they can't only steal from it but also transport illegal items in them? I wish I knew not to trust the safety of this airline.
Date of Travel: May 2007 Flying from: Vancouver International Airport Flying to: London Gatwick Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Mike Richards Comments: For a nine and half hour journey the seat spacing on an Airbus 330 were far too tight. I am 5' 8" and my knees were in contact with the seat ahead and when food was served an accident was waiting to happen. Obviously bigger people had a worse time.
Date of Travel: Dec 2005 Flying from: Toronto Pearson International Airport Flying to: Glasgow International Airport Class: Premium Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Ryan Gray Comments: After my experience in Economy on the way to Toronto, I was a bit unsure how Club would be on the way home, and I must say I was very impressed at the service and crew.
We checked in at our own check-in desk for Club Transat passengers. Priority boarding at the gate, once onboard and we got to our very comfy wide leather seats, we were served with either champagne or orange juice, and given a copy a Canadian Newspaper. Then we were presented with the menu for the flight. After take off, the steward came round to take our drinks order, no drinks cart, and some nibbles.
The meals were served to your seat again not cart by the steward, and I must say one of the best I've had on and aircraft. In-flight entertainment as outbound different movies and no personal screens - the only let down for club I must say. Overall if you are flying to Canada and have some extra money to pay I highly recommend Club Transat. Very good, restored my faith in the airline - I will fly with them again, but only in Club.
